Terms of use

The short version

BluffLab is for fun and for learning. It never uses real money: chips can't be bought, won as prizes or cashed out.
You need to be 18 or over.
Play fair and be decent to other players.
Playing poker in BluffLab is free. If you later choose a paid membership, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment, and you can cancel there.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [publisher name] ("we", "us"), who make BluffLab. By using BluffLab you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

2. No real money

BluffLab is a game and a way to learn poker. Chips in BluffLab are play chips with no value: you can't buy them, sell them, swap them for anything, or cash them out, and there are no prizes of money or anything worth money. BluffLab isn't gambling, and doing well in it doesn't mean you'd do well playing for real money.

3. Who can use BluffLab

You must be 18 or over. You can play as a guest, or make an account to play online and add friends. Keep your sign-in details to yourself: you're responsible for what happens on your account.

4. Usernames and playing fair

Choose a username that isn't offensive and doesn't pretend to be someone else. When you play online, don't:

cheat, including using software to play for you, sharing cards with other players, or teaming up against others;
try to see other players' hidden cards, or take advantage of a bug instead of telling us about it;
harass, threaten or abuse anyone;
try to break, overload or get around how BluffLab works.

If you do, we may reset your rating, change your username, or suspend or close your account.

5. Membership

Playing poker in BluffLab is free. We plan to offer optional paid memberships with more coaching, lessons and analysis. When we do:

the price, what's included and how often you're charged will be shown before you buy;
memberships bought in the App Store or Google Play are charged by them, renew automatically until you cancel, and can be cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before the next renewal;
refunds are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their rules, and your legal rights as a consumer aren't affected.

While BluffLab is in early access, everything is free, and features may change as we build it.

6. What belongs to whom

BluffLab, including its design, artwork, computer players, coach and lessons, belongs to us. You can use it for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. Please don't copy, resell or reverse-engineer it.

7. Changes and availability

We're always improving BluffLab, so features may change, and we may stop offering some of them. Online play needs an internet connection and may sometimes be unavailable. We'll do our best to keep things running smoothly and fairly, but we can't promise BluffLab will always be available or free of mistakes, including mistakes in the coach's advice.

8. Our responsibility to you

We're responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We aren't responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for any business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

9. Ending

You can stop using BluffLab whenever you like, and delete your account in the app (Profile, then Delete account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app if the change is important. If you keep using BluffLab after that, the new terms apply.

11. The law

These terms are governed by the law of [country]. If you live in the UK or the EU, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of the consumer laws there.

Playing safely

BluffLab is play money only. If gambling for real money is causing problems for you or someone you know, free, confidential help is available: in the UK, the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 (gamcare.org.uk); in the US, 1-800-GAMBLER.
